Hello, I’m Lori!
I’m from Ontario, Canada, and have been a teacher since 2012. After completing my Bachelor of Social Work in 2011, I moved to Nanjing, China, where I taught English as a Second Language for six and a half years in a private language school. I primarily taught students between the ages of three to fourteen in small group settings and one-to-one tutoring. I also taught large group classes in kindergartens and middle schools.
I began teaching one-to-one and small group classes online in 2017. These courses have focused on general and conversational English for students between the ages of three to fourteen. I also have extensive experience teaching phonics, reading, reading comprehension, and critical thinking. In 2019, I received a promotion and was assigned the task of evaluating other teachers’ classes. This responsibility has helped me to fine-tune my teaching skills and bring my absolute best to the classroom.
I have an energetic, encouraging teaching style. I bring my hard-working attitude and joy of learning into each and every class. My dad’s motto is: Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life. I have indeed found my life’s passion. I enjoy helping students reach their learning goals by making learning fun and asking questions that engage learners.
I look forward to meeting you in the classroom! We can discuss your goals and have fun as we work towards meeting those miles stones.
